Iona makes the ideal base for a family self-catering beach holiday. A large five bedroom house for one family to spread out or for two families to share. Our well presented holiday home is just one minute's walk from the eastern end of the renowned West Wittering beach. It is also only a five minute walk from East Wittering village centre which has a Tesco Express, butcher's shop, delicatessen, greengrocery, Indian restaurant/take-away, Thai restaurant, Chinese take-away, fish and chip shop, cafes, pub, banks etc.
Iona is an ideal base for exploring the delights of Chichester, with it's popular Festival Theatre and picturesque harbour. Arundel and Bosham harbour are also within easy reach. Goodwood with its horse racing, motoring and aviation activities is also easily accessible.
The house layout is ideally suited to sleep 10 persons in 2300 square feet of versatile accommodation. The sitting room opens to the south-westerly facing enclosed front garden through french doors. The kitchen was fully refurbished and enlarged for the 2008 season. It has a gas hob, double electric oven, microwave, dishwasher and is well equipped with cooking utensils, cutlery, crockery, glassware and unbreakable stuff for the little ones. The kitchen can comfortably seat 10 for dining around the specially commissioned 2.6m pine dining table. The utility room is equipped with a washing machine, dryer, iron and ironing board. Downstairs there is also a WC and shower room which is ideal for that post-beach rinse.
Sleeping accommodation downstairs consists of a double bedroom and a twin bedroom. Upstairs is a double bedroom with sea view and en-suite shower with WC, a twin bedroom with en-suite shower and WC and a third bedroom with one double bed and one single bed with en-suite bath, shower and WC. The main double upstairs has a small child bed under the eaves and the double bedroom downstairs has bunk beds in one corner. These beds are not made up but may be used to accomodate children if necessary. *All bed linen for the ten main beds will be provided and the beds made up for your arrival.* But you will need to bring your own towels.
The enclosed garden has a patio area with furniture.
We have equipped Iona to be child friendly without being child dominated. There is a stair-gate that can be easily fitted at either the top or bottom of the staircase. Our ten, eight, four and two year old children always enjoy their stay.
Bed linen will be provided and the beds prepared prior to your arrival. You will however need to supply your own towels and bathroom consumerables and linen for the cot bed if required.
Pets are not permitted for reasons of hygiene.
The layout of the property makes it unsuitable for wheelchair access for which we apologise, although with the downstairs double bedroom, twin bedroom and shower room we can comfortably accommodate those who would rather not use the stairs.
In early 2010 we redecorated the outside and the downstairs bedrooms and fitted shutters to all the windows.
